Each year, the Cultural Services of the Embassy of France in the United States offer scholarships for French teachers to improve their knowledge of the French language.
This program offers funding for American teachers to attend a short summer training in France. There are two categories:
1. for teachers of French as a foreign language at CAVILAM French Alliance in the town of Vichy ;
2. for teachers of Dual Language & Immersion programs at CLA (Centre de Langues Appliquées) in the town of Besançon.
The Embassy of France in the United States sponsors selected participants to attend these trainings.

The BELC training, organized by France Education, are intensive courses offered to teacher trainers every year on the campus of the Université de Nantes. BELC (Bureau pour l’Enseignement de la Langue et de la Civilisation Françaises) trainings are intensive professional courses focused on four main objectives: improving instruction, improving training, improving evaluation, and improving classroom management.
