The Cultural Service
Placed in each country under the authority of the French Embassy, the Cultural Services strive to promote French language and culture in partnership with local institutions. In addition to the headquarters based in New York (artistic cooperation) and Washington (educational and academic cooperation), the French cultural network is present in 8 major US cities: Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, New Orleans, Los Angeles, Miami, San Francisco.
The Cultural service in Houston develops artistic, educational and academic activities in Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas. It is committed with his American partners to promoting French-American exchanges in the artistic, audiovisual, literary, educational, academic, and non-governmental fields. It provides support and advice to individuals (artists, authors, teachers, researchers, professionals) and institutions (art centers, film libraries, professional networks, schools, educational systems, universities, NGOs, foundations, local authorities) and develop with them as a partner various projects.
The Cultural service works with FACE foundation (French American Cultural Exchange - face-foundation.org) on several French-American programs for contemporary art, theater and dance, contemporary music and jazz, the circulation of French cinema in universities, and university partnerships at the Master / Doctorate level.
The Cultural services website www.frenchculture.org presents the various projects and programs, as well as an overview of French cultural and educational events throughout the United States.
